.:weekly prompt:. It's Cold!

Deepend was frozen. He was so used to the warm, humid Rainforest, that the rain seemed cold to him. It was also unusually cold in the mountains, according to him. School was temporary delayed, because of the storm. Food was depleting quickly, but no students were offering to go and get some. Deepend was to scared, but he knew it would be the right thing to do.
He tented his wings over his head like a blanket. The sky was dark, and he knew some of the students couldn't see well. Most SeaWings had their glow lights on, but Deepend was a little bit too shy to light his up. Dragons saw him as a SeaWing, but Deepend felt like a NightWing. That's how he was always raised. He was a hybrid.
Rain shouldn't bother him.
But it did.
With a sigh, Deepend gave in, and lit his scales up. Luckily, nobody noticed. He glaced back out the mouth of his cave, and sighed again. His chest rose and fell as he thought about the storm. When would it end? It was annoying. He was bored, and actually enjoyed his classes, so it was rough not having anything to do. Maybe he could go visit his favorite history teacher.
A small blush crept across the hybrid's face as he thought about his teacher. Shadowfire was the kindest dragon at the school, in Deepend's opinion. He was also younger than all the teachers, and was relatable. Deepend hated to admit it, but he had a small crush on him.
Lightning crackled outside, forcing Deepend out of his trance. He had to get food, he had to.
So, with a deep breath, the small hybrid snapped his wings open and leapt into the storming skies.

Ahh I had to join the wof-the-gifted-ones weekly prompts.
Deepend doesn't react that well to the rain, and he feels trapped. So, in a attempt to help the school (and himself) he goes out into the storm to find food.
